Rolling World Time

Isn't it tricky being a glamorous jet-setter, constantly flitting between time zones, never knowing which side of the equator you're on, constant jet-lag...No? Me neither.

However, if you are looking for an easy way to keep track of time whilst globetrotting or keep track of people who are, this nifty rolling world time clock, conceived by Japanese designer Masafumi Ishikawa easily allows you to check global time without having to adjust the mechanism.

With a little push the clock can display the local time in twelve major world cities, with each one printed on each flat side of the dodecagon shape case. You just set the clock with the city in your timezone facing up, and roll the clock to move timezones.

According to Hodinkee, the quartz movement is partially suspended and disconnected from the case and dial, so the hands stay in the same place and the hours move backwards and forwards around them. Click here to see a video of the clock in action

The aesthetic of the clocks is reminiscent of Braun's travel clocks so it will be interesting to see if any similar products pop up in the next few months...

I doubt I'll ever need a clock with so many available time zones but with the world becoming smaller and our friendship networks reaching further and further (thanks for that, Facebook), this is a really cool way to see what time of day your chums in Tokyo, Sydney and Shanghai are in.

Happy Friday.
